Mr Jayanthi is a Senior Consultant Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeon specialising in General, Upper GI, and Bariatric Surgery. He provides evidence-based surgical care with a strong emphasis on listening to patients, exploring every treatment pathway, and delivering minimally invasive solutions whenever possible.
He is at the forefront of minimally invasive surgery and performed the first robotic oesophagectomy for cancer in the UK. With expertise in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, the focus remains on safer procedures, reduced recovery time, and personalised surgical planning.

Mr Jayanthi graduated from Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute. He undertook research at University of Oxford studying stem cells and diabetes and was awarded a post-graduate doctorate for this research.
Higher surgical training in Wales, followed by advanced fellowships at ICENI centre Colchester; Cancer surgery at St. James’s University Hospital Leeds; and completed Ethicon Bariatric Fellowship at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.
Awarded the prestigious David Dunn Travelling Scholarship by ALSGBI. Performed the first robotic oesophagectomy for cancer in the UK and regularly presents surgical techniques at national and international conferences.
